Training: Gene got his start in 2003 when he looked in the mirror and saw an overweight, divorced man and said to himself, "No one would want to be with you looking like that. I need to take better care of myself." He now trains at the Buffalo Athletic Club under the guidance of
Bo Cunningham.
Competition: Gene's 1st bodybuilding show was in 2003, and he's competed in more than 22 shows
since then.

Gene's initial attraction to bodybuilding was to stay healthy, but it also gave him some realistic goals to focus on. He finds it rewarding
to be a part of the natural bodybuilding community and says, "Bodybuilding is the only sport in which competitors support and help each other, regardless of their level of experience or achievement."
